Dezeen Showroom:<\/a><\/strong> Italian architect and designer\u00a0Antonio Citterio<\/a> worked with furniture brand Flexform<\/a> on a sprawling sofa<\/a> that facilitates working, dining and lounging.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Groundpiece sofa<\/a> is defined by its ample goose down cushions and integrated armrests, which respond to how sofas are now used for multiple household activities.<\/p>\n

The Groundpiece sofa was originally created in 2001<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

These armrests are console-like, and thus can also act as side tables for dining and working, as well as shelving for storing or displaying objects.<\/p>\n

Users can select from padded and upholstered armrest segments or ones made from metal and finished with cowhide detailing.<\/p>\n

It comes in various finishes and upholstery options<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The modular sofa system can also be specified in a range of upholstery materials. allowing it to seamlessly integrate into a variety of domestic interior styles.<\/p>\n

“Groundpiece grew out of the observation of everyday life. A seating system designed to seamlessly welcome different activities \u2013 from relaxation to work \u2013 in contemporary living,” said designer Antonio Citterio<\/a>.<\/p>\n
